STR Regulations is an independent informational resource that provides structured, regularly-verified short-term rental regulation data for cities across the United States.

What We Do

We collect, verify, and structure regulation data from official city government sources — ordinances, municipal codes, and tax authority pages. Every data point on this site is sourced from official government publications with full citations.

How We Verify

Our data pipeline extracts regulation information directly from official source documents and mechanically verifies each claim against the source text. We cross-reference multiple independent government sources when available. Each city page displays a "Sources verified" line giving the span of dates on which its sources were retrieved — the earliest and the most recent, so you can see exactly how old the oldest source behind the page is.

This site does not provide legal, tax, or regulatory advice. We are not affiliated with any government entity, hosting platform, or property management company. Always verify current requirements with your local government before listing your property or making investment decisions.
